Who is Glen Reyes?

2024–2025 was a dream year for Glen. As part of Breaking Canada, the national sport organization that represented Canada at the Olympic Games, he spent the year traveling the world with the team, working to qualify multiple dancers for Paris 2024. In the end, one dancer earned a spot and a gold medal, but the journey also showed him how many others never had the chance to compete for the podium.

It struck a personal chord. After graduating university, Glen struggled to find work and often felt overlooked. That experience shaped his belief that, given the right chance, people can rise far beyond expectations. It’s why he has devoted his career to creating spaces where others can shine.

Through leadership programs, hip hop education, and SHSM workshops, Glen builds platforms that help students gain the skills, confidence, and community they need to succeed. He is most proud of the Cypher Program and Competitive Arts, which bring thousands of students together each year for high-energy showcases and battles.

His next chapter is about growth, extending this community beyond Toronto to connect with hidden talent across borders. Wherever his work takes him, the mission stays the same: help the underdog step forward, take the spotlight, and lead.

Mission

My mission is simple: I help the underdog win.

I build programs for students who are often overlooked and for teachers who deserve more support. Sometimes that’s an SHSM-certified workshop where students leave with real-world skills they can use tomorrow. Sometimes it’s a hip hop dance program that builds confidence, creativity, and community. And sometimes it’s training educators to use AI so every student gets a fair shot.

After more than a decade leading national non-profit initiatives, I’ve learned that change happens when you give people the tools, the platform, and the belief that they can lead. That’s why everything I do is about creating those opportunities.
